Aquarius Community Savers

Aquarius Community Savers work in close partnership with On Top of the World Project in Hulme and run their weekly savings collection as part of On Top’s Wednesday social club at the Aquarius Community Centre. As well as meeting for fun, wellbeing, and peer support, the group are lead members of an innovative partnership called Ageing Well in Place in Hulme. This has the aim of ensuring that older and vulnerable tower block tenants can ‘live well and with dignity in the place they call home’.

Aquarius Community Savers are also key members of the Block the Block campaign to prevent the development of a nine storey purpose built student accommodation block directly opposite an age-banded older people’s block on the site of the former Gamecock pub.
