Digital Inclusion volunteers (Women of Wythenshawe)
Role Description:
As a Digital Support Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in empowering community group leaders affiliated with the Community Savers network. Your support will help them build confidence and enhance their digital skills for effective community group management and activities.
Main Tasks:
– Tailored Support: Provide personalised one-to-one support to community group leaders you are matched with.
– Skills Assessment: Evaluate their digital skills, identify gaps, and measure confidence levels.
– Skill Development: Collaborate with them to prioritise and develop the digital skills they need the most.

Patience:
Have you ever helped a parent or grandparent learn to use a tablet or a laptop? Your patience in these situations makes you perfect for this role!
Good Verbal Communicator:
You will be providing one-on-one support to individuals with basic IT skills. Strong communication skills are essential to explain digital tasks clearly and step-by-step.
Reasonable ICT Skills:
While you don’t need to be an IT expert, regular use of email, web browsing, video conferencing, MS Office, Windows Explorer, and cloud storage systems (like G:drive and Dropbox) will give you the experience needed to assist others effectively.
Training and Support Available:
– Comprehensive Induction: Introduction to CLASS and Community Savers including health & safety, data protection, safeguarding, and our code of conduct.
– Ongoing Supervision: Regular supervision and support to help you succeed in your role.
