Brinnington Savers was born out of a group of residents who were raising money for medical equipment for local families in need and volunteering for Stockport Homes as part of a local food club. Some of these women did a series of exchanges with Mums Mart in 2018. They made some good friends and even visited a Kenyan savings movement in Nairobi in June 2018 to learn about how they bring local residents together to have a stronger voice over neighbourhood development.
Brinnington savers meet every Saturday at 11am, Brinnington Community Hub, unit 2, Berwick Parade, Stockport, SK5 8KQ where they hold an informal weekly savings meeting where local residents can get together over a brew.
